DiSSCo Sweden is now on the Swedish Research Council’s national roadmap for research infrastructure

24 June 2026

DiSSCo Sweden has been included on the Swedish Research Council’s national roadmap for Research Infrastructure and classified as A1, the highest priority category. This means that the proposed national node is considered ready for a future infrastructure call and eligible to apply for national funding in the next relevant round.

The decision represents a significant recognition of the need for a national Swedish node that can connect Sweden’s natural science collections to the European DiSSCo RI and make them more accessible, interoperable, and research-ready. It recognizes the need to make Sweden’s biodiversity and geodiversity collections more accessible, searchable, interoperable, and reusable for research, innovation, policy, and society.

The Swedish Research Council highlights the high scientific and national relevance of DiSSCo Sweden and its role as a complement to existing infrastructures such as SBDI/GBIF Sweden.
