As a new ESFRI initiative, DiSSCo presented its premise and approach in developing a new world class distributed research infrastructure for Europe’s scientific collections. The DiSSCo delegation of seven people (from five countries) interacted with the conference participants, presenting its mission. During the conference an ad-hoc meeting was organised to inform ESFRI delegates on the initiative and collate their preliminary feedback.
The ICRI conference took place between 3 and 6 September in the centre of Cape Town. DiSSCo will submit an application for inclusion to the forthcoming ESFRI roadmap 2018 update. The new roadmap process was also announced during ICRI by the chair of the ESFRI Giorgio Rossi.
